Over the past five years, IRQO has evolved from humble roots into its current form. In 2001, a virtual collective called the Rainbow Group was formed over the Internet. The group’s members corresponded by e-mail in the hope of building alliances and creating solidarity among Iranian homosexual, Bisexual and Transgender. As its membership increased, the Rainbow Group evolved into a larger organization that offered much needed information and services to its community. In 2003, majority ruled and PGBSO changed its name to PGLO to reflect the inclusion of Iranian lesbians in the group’s mandate.
